Without the pickups, bridge and electronics, the assembled body is very light (almost same as my lightweight swampash Jazzbass body) and now I worry about the neck dive since there is no ‘horn’ in this body.
The PU cavity is too deep for a direct mount PU so I need to raise the floor. I’ll use MDF to gain some weight and Baltic Birch for secure screw tightening.
余計なパーツ無しの素のボディはすごく軽いですね。家に転がっているLightweight Swamp AshのJazz Bass ボディとほとんど同じ重さ。ちょっと気になるのはホーンが無いから持った時のバランス的にヘッド落ち大丈夫かなー？
PUキャビティがダイレクトマウントのPUには深すぎるからフロアーを高くしないと。少しでも重さを稼ぐためにMDF使います。いやいや、金属は加工が面倒なんでさすがにカンベン。これにバルチックバーチを重ねてねじ止めの食いつきを良くします。
I painted the floor in red hoping the color will be visible around the pickups.
赤く塗ってみました。組んだ時にPUの回りから赤がチラっと見えるといいな・・と。
